Logline
A successful defence lawyer tells his life story, from the cradle to his deathbed. He has killed, nobody ever found out, and he has no intention of repenting.

The story
He says it on the first page: he was born bad. At fifteen months he sees a neighbour shot dead in a robbery, and he likes the pool of blood. At five he forms his first gang, at thirteen he carries a knife, at twenty-four he kills a homeless man with a stone. Then he studies law and becomes one of the best-known defence lawyers in Italy, a regular on television.
The story moves through scattered years, out of order, like notes. There is the teacher who tried to save him, the coma after a kickboxing fight that wipes his memory and then gives it all back at once, the son he fears has inherited his DNA. And at the end, a question for the audience: what is the right sentence for a bastard?
Notes
The protagonist speaks straight to the audience and asks for no sympathy. Together with The Journalist and The Clerk it can also become a three-episode miniseries.
