From the novel by Dario Cioni
What if your son’s mentor were a former revolutionary?
Logline
Folco is seventeen and feels like a ghost in his own life. Then his aunt Mara gets out of prison and moves in: magnetic, radical, dangerous. She teaches him how to feel alive, and he will have to choose a side.
The story
Oversized hoodie, patchy beard, deeply sceptical. Folco watches the world without taking part. His father is a television personality, a man who traded his ideals for an image.
Mara arrives with a past in armed struggle and convictions she never gave up. She breaks the family’s fragile normality apart and forces her nephew to ask what is worth fighting for. Then the family secrets surface, along with a revenge plan that leads everyone into a TV studio, in front of a loaded gun.
Notes
A coming-of-age novel with thriller elements, about a boy, his aunt and his father. Dario Cioni is developing it as a film he will direct.
